Itinerary

Pick up from the airport or railway station and drive to Kathgodam (approximately 7 hours). Check in at the hotel, followed by an evening briefing about the upcoming journey. Overnight stay at the hotel.

07:00 AM: Depart from Kathgodam to Pithoragarh. Along the way, we will visit Kainchi Dham, Chetai Golu Devta Temple, and Jageshwar Dham. Upon arrival, enjoy a warm welcome at the hotel in Pithoragarh and an overnight stay.

  • Kainchi Dham: This Hanuman temple and ashram was established by the revered saint Sri Neem Karoli Baba ji in the 1960s.
  • Golu Devta Temple: Constructed in the 12th century by a general from the Chand Dynasty, Golu Devta is famously known as the God of Justice.
  • Jageshwar Dham: A cluster of over 100 stone temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, this site is popularly referred to as the “Valley of Gods.”
  • Pithoragarh: Known as the "Shor Valley," Pithoragarh is the third-largest city in the Kumaon region. It is a dream destination for those seeking a retreat from the crowd and serves as the gateway to numerous trekking routes, including the Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra.

After an early breakfast, drive from Pithoragarh to Dharchula. Upon arrival, we will complete the paperwork for the Inner Line Permit, which is necessary as we will be close to the international border with Nepal today. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Dharchula: The name "Dharchula" is derived from "Dhar," meaning "ridge," and "Chulha," meaning "stove." The unique geography of this valley gives it its name; viewed from above, the town resembles a stove surrounded by high ridges on all sides, divided by the flowing Kali River, with Nepal on the opposite bank. Besides visiting Nepal, you can immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the RUNG museum or tasting delicious dumplings. For those attuned to the vibrations of places, Dharchula offers a glimpse into the historical Indo-Tibet trade routes, where the legacy of migration caravans is felt in the eyes of the indigenous Rung community. The wrinkles on their brows and their warm smiles will guide you on an adventurous journey along the Silk Route.

This morning, after breakfast, we will visit Nabi, a captivating village that rivals the mystery of "Pandora" from Avatar. The journey to Nabi feels like a fairytale adventure, showcasing breathtaking views of cliff-hanging mountains, rushing rivers, and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas—setting the stage for entering Shiva's territory. En route, we will explore stunning villages such as Malpa (desolated), Budhi, Chialekh, Garbyang, Gunji, and Napalchu. Nabi serves as the base camp for Adi Kailash, where you can truly experience the essence of Himalayan culture. Enjoy an overnight stay at a homestay (with common washroom) in Nabi Village, and prepare for some delicious local cuisine.

  • Malpa: The site of one of the greatest tragedies in the Himalayas, the Malpa disaster of 1999. Be sure to ask your guide or driver about this unforgettable story of loss.
  • Budhi: This place offers an exhilarating blend of adventure and the spiritual aura of a pilgrimage.
  • Chialekh: Known as a paradise, Chialekh requires your inner line permit to be checked by the Army, giving you a unique experience.
  • Garbyang: Don’t forget to pick up some sea buckthorn vinegar from this village.
  • Gunji: A slight turn of your gaze reveals the winding path toward Om Parvat and the ancient Kailash Mansarovar route.

Early in the morning, we will embark on a journey to Om Parvat, approximately a 2-hour drive away. Here, you will witness a “Miracle of Nature,” where the snow on the mountain forms the sacred shape of Om. After your darshan of Om Parvat, take some time to relax, meditate, and absorb the true blessings of Shiva. Later, we will visit Kalapani (subject to permission) before returning to our Finding Shiva community. In the evening, enjoy a Finding Shiva walk to Manakamana Temple, followed by a cultural program (subject to the availability of artists). Overnight stay at Nabi Village.

  • Om Parvat: Eight "Om" symbols are mentioned in the Skanda Purana, and only one can be seen for darshan. Nature has created this divine symbol of "Om" on a grand mountain to reveal itself to us. You will be spellbound from the very first glimpse of this miracle. Sit quietly and listen to the profound vibrations of the sound "Om."
  • Mahakali Temple (Kalapani): Experience the essence of "Kali," the dark feminine energy, at this beautiful temple complex. You'll find it difficult to leave this serene place. Don’t forget to have darshan of the source of the Kali River and Vyas Gufa.

Today, we will set off early in the morning to visit the ancient abode of Lord Shiva—Adi Kailash. The journey to the Almighty's home is anything but easy, challenging pilgrims on every level as we shed our egos along the deep valleys and flowing rivers. Along the way, you will witness the divine beauty of Vyas Valley with every 100 meters we ascend. This beauty is so profound that even the greatest poets find it hard to capture. Be sure to keep your eyes on the Pandav Fort at Kuti village. Upon reaching Jyolingkong, we will trek 2 km to Parvati Sarovar (depending on your fitness level), or you can hire a pony if preferred. Here, you can explore your inner consciousness and connect with the energy of Lord Shiva. Close your eyes and feel the vibrations as you bow before the majestic Adi Kailash Mountain, standing at 6310 meters above sea level. If time and health permit, the journey may extend to Gauri Kund, located near the base of Mount Adi Kailash at nearly 5000 meters, which may pose a risk of altitude sickness (AMS). After lunch, we will seek permission from Lord Shiva to continue our journey. The evening will be spent with the RUNG community, offering insights into the lifestyle of Himalayan villages. Overnight stay at Nabi Village.

After breakfast in the morning, we will head back to Dharchula. The evening will be free for visiting Nepal and shopping. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Dharchula.

After breakfast, we will drive to Patal Bhuvneshwar, enjoying panoramic views of the Shivalik ranges and Himalayan villages along the way. Upon arrival, we will visit the Patal Bhuvneshwar cave and then check in to the resort/hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Patal Bhuvneshwar Cave: This underground limestone cave is believed to be the residence of Lord Shiva and thirty crore deities. A visit to Patal Bhuvneshwar cave is said to be equivalent to a thousand visits to Kashi, Baidyanath, or Kedarnath. The Skanda Purana describes the blessings received in Manas Khand, chapter 103, in connection with Patal Bhuvneshwar.

After breakfast, we will drive to Kathgodam. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive to Delhi railway station or airport, cherishing the unforgettable spiritual moments of the journey. The yatra concludes here, leaving you with experiences that transcend life and death
